Happy Holidays!

It's been a busy year full of changes for me!

This year I have:

  • Started a new job I really like. It does limit my time for art but I'm going to be honest, I don't care. It has taken away the pressure of being a starving artist and means I can do arty things for fun and not hungrily eye up the next customer.

  • Tried lots of new activities. I tried pole dancing, I signed up for a new CrossFit gym, I signed up for archery in the new year, I've even signed up for singing lessons! I've tried lots of mini workshops and attended several talks that I've found very inspiring.

  • Ran my first ever workshop. It was a free craft activity for children, it was felt chaotic and went by very fast but the kids seemed to have a good time.

  • Attended business courses. I've been running a small business for a while now, honestly I still don't feel like I know what I'm doing.

Over the Christmas break I will complete a mini series of illustrations that will be featured in Gainsborough Library for World Wildlife Day. I will write up more details in the new year. I'm hoping to make some stickers for the children to take home.

Plans for the new year:

  • Finally work on my Remarkable Dogs project and make prints and stickers. I keep putting it off.

  • I will be participating in a group exhibition with my portrait drawing class!

  • Reach out to venues about running workshops.

  • I might find someone to zhuzh up my website because frankly it's not where I want it to beat the moment.

  • Work on new illustrations that aren't pet portraits.

  • Offer more human portraits options???

  • Work on a graphic novel (when? How? No idea, but we'll see!)

  • Explore more local history and folklore and let it inspire my work.

What are your plans for the new year?
